About Kel Felts
Hello! My name is Kel, and I’m a Brazilian artist who specializes in needle felted, lifelike mice, dressed in custom-made, little whimsical outfits sewn by me. I found comfort in needlefelting during childhood, and it became a way for me to navigate my struggles with anxiety and autism.
My biggest inspiration is the magical world of children’s books, where animals talk, explore, and live in charming, cozy settings. Before becoming a full-time needle felter, I worked as a graphic designer, and this journey has allowed me to merge my love for design and storytelling, creating pieces that feel as though they’ve stepped out of a storybook.
I’ve had the privilege of selling my pieces to 15 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, Spain, France and Hong Kong. Each mouse is made from natural materials, and I source wool from a local farm. I've sold more than one hundred, one of a kind mice. Each take up to 20 hours of handmade labor to create.

Know how they're made

100% wool
These needle felted sculptures are made from natural wool, which is purchased from a local farm and dyed with organic dyes.

Accessories
All clothing and accessory is handmade by me, from wool yarn, cotton fabric and/or thrifted leather scraps. Lanterns are made from air dry clay, and painted with metallic paint. Copper miniatures like teapots are sourced from a local manufacturer.
